Road to Mahan

In November 2014, I journeyed from Kerman to the tranquil town of Mahan, nestled between mountains and desert landscapes. Mahan provided a serene escape, offering a deep dive into Iran’s rich cultural and spiritual tapestry. The crown jewel was the Shahzadeh Garden (Prince’s Garden), a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its cascading terraces, flowing fountains, and vibrant greenery creating a magical oasis amid the arid surroundings. Walking through its symmetrical pathways, I was captivated by the perfect harmony of nature and architecture, embodying the essence of a Persian garden. Nearby, the mausoleum of the Sufi saint Shah Nematollah Vali exuded peace and reverence, adorned with turquoise domes, intricate tiles, and a spiritual ambiance that invited quiet reflection. Mahan’s combination of natural beauty, historical significance, and tranquility made my visit an enchanting journey into a timeless part of Iran.
